You may see different wording depending on where you’re managing your Tonies:
- On my.tonies.com (web): “This Tonie is mine”
- In the tonies® app: “Lock Tonie to Household”
These both refer to the same feature and control ownership of a Tonie, whether it stays linked to your household or can move between different households.
When the setting is ON (Locked)
- The Tonie is linked to your household
- It stays in your collection
- It remains assigned to your household, even if used on another Toniebox in a different household
👉 Best for:
- Keeping your Tonies from being accidentally “taken” to another household
- Shared environments (friends, school, relatives)
When the setting is OFF (Unlocked)
- The Tonie can move between different households
- If it’s added to another Toniebox in a different household, it may transfer to that household.
- No longer appear in your collection
- Be added to another household’s account
👉 Best for:
- Gifting or sharing Tonies
- Letting little listeners take Tonies between homes
How to manage this setting
In the tonies® app
- Go to "Collection"
- Select the Tonie you want to manage
- Click "Advanced Settings"
- Toggle “Lock Tonie to Household” on or off
On my.tonies.com
- Go to "Tonies"
- Select the Tonie you want to manage
- Click the (edit) pencil icon
- Toggle “This Tonie is mine” on or off
⚠️ Important things to know
- The Tonie will always play normally on any Toniebox. This setting only affects account ownership/visibility
- If a Tonie disappears from your Collection, it’s usually because:
- The setting was turned off (unlocked)
- The Tonie was used on another Toniebox in a different household
- You can toggle this setting anytime before sharing or moving a Tonie
