1. Get started with setup

   Navigate to my.tonies.com/setup on your device. If you have not logged in or created a free Tonie-Account yet, you will be greeted by the page shown below. Click on 'I want to begin'.
   
   
   
    

2. Create your account

   Here you can sign up for your free Tonie-Account by entering in your information and clicking 'Sign Up Now'. If you have already created a Tonie-Account, click on 'Log In Now' and login using your credentials.
   
   
   
    

3. Gather what you need

   Make sure you have access to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection, your Toniebox 1, and the Toniebox 1 Charging Station. Also, make sure your computer is connected via Wi-Fi and not plugged in directly through an ethernet cable. Once you are ready, click on 'I want to begin!'.
   
   
   
    

4. Enter your Toniebox 1 ID

   Enter your Toniebox 1 ID. This is the 8 digit ID that can be found on the bottom of your Toniebox 1. Make sure the Toniebox 1 is not on the charger during this step or you will not be able to see the Toniebox 1 ID. Once you have entered your Toniebox 1 ID, click on 'Great, go ahead'.
   
   
   
    

5. Name your Toniebox 1

   Here you can name your Toniebox 1. Once you have entered a name, click on 'Onwards!'
   
   
   
    

6. Put your Toniebox 1 in setup mode

   If you have not already, place the Toniebox 1 on the charger to turn it on. Then pinch both ears for about 5 seconds until you hear an audio chime and the LED begins to flash blue. Wait for about 20 seconds until you hear a second audio chime. Then click on 'Then get started!'.
   
   
   
    

7. Connect to your Toniebox 1

   Now you will need to connect to your Toniebox 1. This is done by using a specific Toniebox 1 Wi-Fi network. Please note that this is different than your regular home Wi-Fi network that we will connect to in a future step.
   
   
   
    

8. Open your network list

   To connect to the Toniebox 1 Wi-Fi network, bring up the Network list on your device. In most cases, you can do this by clicking on the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom-right of your screen.
   
   
   
    

9. Find and join the Toniebox 1 network

   Find the "Toniebox-####" network in the list of Wi-Fi connections. The last 4 numbers of the connection name will be different for every Toniebox 1. Click on the Toniebox 1 network name and then click 'Connect'.
   
   
   
    

10. Continue the setup

    Once the connection with your Toniebox 1 is established, open the webpage again and a new button will appear. Click 'Continue' to move forward.
    
    
    
     

11. Connect to your home WiFi

    Now, you will connect to your home 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If your Wi-Fi network is not already selected, you can click the dropdown arrow to view all nearby available Wi-Fi connections. Click the name of your Wi-Fi network and then enter your Wi-Fi password. Tip: Click 'Show password' to see your password and ensure that all capitalization and spelling is correct.
    
    Once you have entered the correct password, click 'Connect Toniebox'.
    
    
    
     

12. Wait for the connection

    Please wait while the Toniebox 1 establishes a connection with your Wi-Fi.
    
    
    
     

13. Let it finish connecting

    Continue to wait while your Toniebox 1 continues through the connection process. This may take a minute or two. You may hear several audio chimes and the LED on the Toniebox 1 will alternate between flashing blue and flashing green. *If you run into an error message, take a look at our support article here: The Toniebox 1 flashes red and reports an error
    
    
    
     

14. You're all set!

    Once your Toniebox 1 is finished connecting to your Wi-Fi and downloading any necessary updates, you will hear a welcome message and see 'Congratulations' on your screen. The Toniebox 1 LED should also now be solid green.
    
    
    
     

15. Start using your Toniebox 1!

    Now your Toniebox 1 is all setup and ready for Tonies! Place a Tonie on the Toniebox 1 and it will begin downloading its content and the LED will begin blinking blue. Once your Tonie is finished downloading all of its content, the LED on the Toniebox 1 will change to solid green and an audio chime will play. Now that Tonie can play even without a Wi-Fi connection. Using the tonies app on an iPhone with iOS

1. Download the tonies app

   Download the tonies app from the App Store (iPhone). Open the tonies app and login or create your free Tonie-Account if you have not already done so. Once you are logged in, tap the icon in the bottom right hand corner titled 'Collection'.
   
   
   
    

2. Tap the plus (+) sign

   Tap the red plus (+) sign next to 'Toniebox'
   
   
   
    

3. Tap 'Start Setup Process'

   Tap 'Start Setup Process' at the bottom of the screen to start the setup process.
   
   
   
    

4. Confirm Toniebox 1 is on

   Before proceeding, ensure your Toniebox 1 is turned on and the LED is flashing green by placing it on top of the charging station that is plugged into a power source. Once done, tap 'Continue'.
   
   
   
    

5. Pinch both ears

   Now, while the Toniebox 1 is on and plugged in, pinch and hold both ears for about 5 seconds until the LED flashes blue and you hear an audio tone. Once you hear the audio tone, tap 'Continue'. 
   
   
   
    

6. Confirm LED color

   You will then be asked to select what LED is currently shown on top of the Toniebox 1. The LED should be blinking/pulsing blue at this stage. Simply tap the 'Blue LED' button when prompted.
   
   
   
    

7. Start setup wizard

   The setup wizard will now start the setup process, and after a few seconds, you will see a 'Discovering' window at the bottom of the screen. Please wait for the setup wizard to load and locate your Toniebox 1. 
   
   
   
    

8. Set up accessory

   Once your Toniebox 1 has been located, you will see a 'Set Up Accessory' window at the bottom of the screen, and it will ask you to pair your Toniebox 1 with the tonies app and your smartphone. Once prompted, simply tap 'Set Up' at the bottom. 
   
   
   
    

9. Finish setup in app

   After the Toniebox 1 has completed pairing, you will see a 'Finish Setup in App' screen at the bottom. To finalize the setup process, tap on the 'Continue in App' button. 
   
   
   
    

10. Let Toniebox 1 info load

    Wait until the 'Loading Toniebox 1 information' step is completed and has a green checkmark next to it, then tap on 'Continue'. 
    
    
    
     

11. Now you will see a list of available Wi-Fi networks. Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network to continue.
    
    
      

12. Connect to your Wi-Fi

    Enter your Wi-Fi password. Tip: Tap the 'eye' icon on the right-hand side to see your password and ensure that all capitalization and spelling are correct. Once you have entered the correct password, tap 'Continue'. 
    
    
     

13. Connect and update

    Wait while the Toniebox 1 establishes a connection with your Wi-Fi and downloads any available updates. This process may take a minute or two and you may hear multiple sounds or beeps while the Toniebox 1 connects. *If you run into an error message, take a look at our support article here: The Toniebox 1 flashes red and reports an error
    
    
    
     

14. Toniebox 1 is ready to play!

    Once your Toniebox 1 is finished connecting to your Wi-Fi and downloading any necessary updates, you will hear a welcome message from the Toniebox 1 speaker and see a screen that says 'Congratulations! Your Toniebox 1 is ready to play!'. The Toniebox 1 LED should also now be solid green.
    
    Note: You can tap the 'Personalize now (recommended)' button to adjust specific settings such as volume and the Toniebox 1 name, however, these settings can be adjusted at any point in time.
    
    
    
     

15. Now, your Toniebox 1 is all setup and ready for Tonies! Place a Tonie on the Toniebox 1 and it will begin downloading its content and the LED will begin blinking blue. Once your Tonie is finished downloading all of its content, the LED on the Toniebox 1 will change to solid green and an audio chime will play. Now that Tonie can play even without a Wi-Fi connection. Using the tonies app on an Android smartphone

1. Download the tonies app

   Download the tonies app from the Google Play Store (Android). Open the tonies app and login or create your free Tonie-Account if you have not already done so. Once you are logged in, tap the icon in the bottom right hand corner titled 'Collection'.
   
   
   
    

2. Tap the plus (+) sign

   Tap the red plus (+) sign next to 'Toniebox'
   
   
   
    

3. Tap 'Start Setup Process'

   Tap 'Start Setup Process' at the bottom of the screen to start the setup process.
   
   
   
    

4. Enter your Toniebox 1 ID

   This is the 8 digit ID that can be found on the bottom of your Toniebox 1. Make sure the Toniebox 1 is not on the charger or you will not be able to see the Toniebox 1 ID. Once you have entered your Toniebox 1 ID, tap 'Continue'.
   
   
   
    

5. Confirm Toniebox 1 is on

   Before proceeding, ensure your Toniebox 1 is turned on and the LED is flashing green by placing it on top of the charging station that is plugged into a power source. Once done, tap 'Continue'.
   
   
   
    

6. Place the Toniebox 1 on the charger 

   Place the Toniebox 1 on the charger to turn it on if you have not already done so. Then pinch both ears for about 5 seconds until you hear an audio chime and the LED begins to flash blue. Wait for about 20 seconds until you hear a second audio chime. Once you hear the second audio chime and the LED is slowly pulsing blue, tap 'Continue'.

7. Confirm LED color

   You will then be asked to select what LED is currently shown on top of the Toniebox 1. The LED should be slowly pulsing blue (in and out) at this stage. Simply tap the 'Blue Pulsing LED' button when prompted. 
   
   
   
    

8. Connect to device

   Now the Toniebox 1 will attempt to connect to your smartphone. When you see the box that says 'Connect to device?', tap the 'Connect' or 'Allow' button. This is an important step to complete the Wi-Fi connection process.
   
   Note: You may see a slightly different message depending on the version of Android you are using.
   
   
   
    

9. Wait for connection

   Please wait for the Toniebox 1 to fully connect to your smartphone. This may take a few seconds. 
   
   
   
    

10. Select your network

    Once the Toniebox 1 connects to your smartphone, you will see a list of available Wi-Fi networks. Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network to continue.
    
    
    
     

11. Connect to your network

    Enter your Wi-Fi password. Tip: Tap the 'eye' icon on the right-hand side to see your password and ensure that all capitalization and spelling are correct. Once you have entered the correct password, tap 'Continue'.

13. Your Toniebox 1 is ready to play!
