When you place a new Tonie or Tonieplay Disc on your Toniebox 2, the fun doesn’t always start instantly. Before your story, song, or audio adventure can begin, the Toniebox 2 needs to download the opening chapter from our servers or the full game for a Tonieplay Disc.
What to expect:
Tonies - Normal wait time: usually just 5–10 seconds for a Tonie. Please note the Tonie will only begin to play once the first chapter has downloaded.
Tonieplay - Normal wait time is up to 30 minutes for a Tonieplay Disc.
The Light Ring will display the download progress to keep you updated.
Occasional longer wait:
With slower internet or busy servers, it might take longer, up to an hour or more, so please allow some extra time beyond these times. Note that our longer games, like Quizzles, will take the longest time to download.
Download interrupted?
- If a Tonie gets stuck during download and doesn’t progress, remove it from the Toniebox 2, wait a few seconds, and try again. If the issue persists, restart the Toniebox 2.
- If you encounter any hiccups during your download, like your Tonieplay disc is removed from the Toniebox 2, then no need to worry! The download will continue in the background, and once completed the Tonieplay game will be ready to play.
Tips to speed things up:
- Make sure your Toniebox 2 has a stable Wi-Fi network.
- Move it closer to your router if you can.
- A quick router restart can help if things are sluggish.
- If your internet connection is on the leisurely side, give that first download a little extra time.
- Once the first download is complete, your Toniebox 2 stores the content. That means all future playbacks start instantly, with or without Wi-Fi.
