Damaged, swollen, or overheated lithium batteries pose a significant fire risk. It is essential to remove the batteries from any device before disposal and to dispose of them separately. Personnel handling the batteries must be informed of any damage to the battery.
Cover the battery terminals before disposal or handing to further reduce the risk of fire.
Ensure that batteries and capacitors are fully discharged prior to disposal to prevent potential short circuits and the associated risk of fire.
Dispose of according to local waste regulations.
