Welcome the newest addition to the tonies® family: Toniebox Lite!
Thinking about adding Toniebox Lite to your household? We've gathered the most frequently asked questions in one place to help you get started and learn everything you need to know.
Toniebox Lite is our smaller audio player, which was made for easy listening. It works with all Tonies, has a sleep timer, connects to Bluetooth headphones and also uses USB-C charging, just like the Toniebox 2.
Whereas the Tonieboz 2 does everything the Toniebox Lite does, but gives kids even more ways to listen, play and explore. Toniebox 2 can play Tonieplay games, has a dynamic light ring that doubles up as a night light, and comes with a squishy exterior.

No replacements here! The Toniebox 2 isn't going anywhere. Toniebox Lite is simply another option for families to choose from.
Both Toniebox Lite and Toniebox 2 deliver the screen-free listening experience families know and love. Toniebox 2 is our flagship player, offering additional premium features such as Tonieplay interactive audio games, a dynamic light ring, Sunrise Alarm, and expanded app functionality.
Yes. If you already own any Tonies, they'll work with the Toniebox Lite in exactly the same way as any other Toniebox. Just a heads up that Tonieplay games aren't compatible though. If you want to play Tonieplay games, you'll need a Toniebox 2.
It’s a great fit for any kid aged 1+.

Yes, you can. Just be aware that because of the lithium battery, airline safety regulations need it to be packed in your carry-on luggage rather than your checked in bags. It's the same story with a Toniebox 1 and 2. Oh, and a quick tip before you head off: make sure your Tonies are fully downloaded (look for that solid green light) before you leave home Wi-Fi! Please do keep in mind that each airline has its own safety requirements, so we recommend checking directly with them.
No. Toniebox Lite is a more compact player, so isn't compatible with Tonieplay. If you want to play Tonieplay games, you'll need a Toniebox 2.
Toniebox Lite requires a certified USB-C cable, you can grab one from tonies.com, or you can use any certified USB-C cable and Class II power supply.
It's powered by a 4 Ah Lithium iron phosphate battery (also called LiFePo4).
Slip the cover over your Toniebox Lite and make sure the speaker holes are aligned, then you're good to go, it's that simple.
Because the Toniebox Lite has a hard cover as standard, it's more sensitive than the squishier Toniebox 2. So a lighter tap will do the job. If you do decide to get a cover for your Toniebox Lite, you'll need to tap it a little harder. Our best advice is to play around with it for a bit and find out where the right line is!
The squishy covers we sell separately are made from 100% silicone.
The outer shell is made with ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and the ears are made with TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane).
Absolutely. Toniebox 1 is still part of the tonies® family, and we’ll continue supporting it!
