If you are running into trouble when trying to record or add content onto a Creative Tonie, then you may need to check if you have given the correct permissions to the tonies app. This process will be different depending on which device you have, iPhone/iPad or Android.
iPhone/iPad
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll all the way down until you see a list of all of your apps. Locate the tonies app in the list and tap on it.
- For the tonies app to function properly, you will need to allow the Location, Photos, Microphone, and possibly the Cellular Data (depending on your connection) permissions. Rest assured, tonies does not truly access your photos. This is a function of the iPhone operating system. Your iPhone assumes that most of the apps that require file access have something to do with photos, therefore they ask for Photos permission. By setting the Photos permission to 'Read and Write,' you give the tonies app the permission to search for your audio files and assign them to a Creative Tonie.

Now completely close out of the tonies app and reopen it. You should now be able to record and upload onto your Creative Tonies without issue!

Open the Settings app on your smartphone.
- Tap the magnifying glass icon to search your Settings.
- Search for 'tonies' and tap 'tonies App info' to view the app information.
- Tap 'Permissions' under the 'App settings' section. You may need to scroll down to see this.
- For the tonies app to function properly, you only need to allow the Microphone and Storage permissions. If you see Microphone or Storage under 'Denied', tap on the name and then select 'Allow'.
- Now completely close out of the tonies app and reopen it. You should now be able to record and upload onto your Creative Tonies without issue!
