Wow, the owl! This can be a sign that there is a connection issue. There’s no need to panic. The best thing to do is wait for a moment and simply try to connect to the Wi-Fi again. If the owl still can’t be scared away, let’s find out what kind it is and how best to deal with it.
We suspect this bird came fluttering by in one of the following situations:
If you heard the code word 'Owl' during the initial setup process:
In this case, if the Toniebox is not successfully set up yet, you can reset your Toniebox to factory settings. Here's how:
- Place the Toniebox on the charging station while connected to the power supply and turn them both upside down together so the ears are pointing downwards.
- Pinch both ears simultaneously for about 10 seconds until you hear an audio signal and the Toniebox shuts down. The Toniebox is now in factory default condition.
- If you would now like to re-setup the Toniebox, remove it from the charging station for a moment and place it back on. It will greet you with "Hello, don’t be scared..."

If the Toniebox is already successfully set up, and you heard the code word 'Owl':
In this case, if the Toniebox has already been successfully set up, then simply restarting the Toniebox may help. Here's how:
- Turn the Toniebox upside down, so its ears are pointing downwards. Note: Do NOT do this with the Toniebox on the charging station, otherwise it will restore to factory settings.
- Pinch both ears for about 10 seconds until you hear an audio signal.
- The Toniebox will now restart and you can turn it back upright. When the LED lights up solid green again, the Toniebox is ready for use.
