The Toniebox neither has a display nor a port for a ethernet cable. Moreover, it is necessary to store access data to a Wi-Fi on the local memory of the Toniebox. This allows the Toniebox to access the Wi-Fi for downloading new Tonies or new content for a Creative-Tonie from the Toniecloud whenever it needs to. To achieve this, we need to temporarily simulate a display. Therefore, we have stored a virtual user interface on the memory of the Toniebox.
In order to access this virtual user interface from the local storage of the Toniebox and mirror it in your preferred browser on your computer, this computer needs to have the technical capability to connect to a wireless network. It must also not be connected to the internet via a ethernet cable during setup. If the computer has two connections to choose from, i.e. the Wi-Fi of the Toniebox and the ethernet connection to the internet, it will usually prefer the cable connection and always disconnect from the Toniebox Wi-Fi. The reason: The cable offers the computer access to the internet at this moment, the Wi-Fi of the Toniebox does not.
If your computer is connected via ethernet cable, we recommend setting up the Toniebox using either the mytonies app or my.tonies.com/setup on your smartphone or tablet instead.
