As long as a computer is connected to the internet using an ethernet cable, it will not actively search for available nearby Wi-Fi connections. Since the Toniebox cannot be connected with an ethernet cable, it must create a Wi-Fi network to connect to your computer. As a result, your computer must be able to actively search for Wi-Fi connections to find and connect to the Toniebox Wi-Fi network during the setup process.
If your computer is connected via ethernet cable, we recommend setting up the Toniebox using either the mytonies app or my.tonies.com/setup on your smartphone or tablet instead.
