Oh no! On rare occasions, you may run into an issue where you no longer hear any sound coming from the Toniebox speaker. Let's go through the possible reasons why this might have happened and what we can do to fix it.
-
There may be an issue with the headphone jack
- Sometimes this issue can appear after using headphones with the Toniebox. In this scenario, the headphone jack gets 'stuck' and believes that a pair of headphones are plugged in, even when they aren't. If you plug in a pair of headphones and can hear sound normally, you are likely experiencing this issue.
- The first troubleshooting step to try is to simply plug in a set of headphones for a few seconds and then unplug them and test the speaker. Plugging and unplugging a set of headphones may help set that back to normal and have the sound played through the speaker again. It may take a couple of attempts, but this method typically works in the majority of cases.
-
If you are still running into the issue after trying the above troubleshooting method, we can attempt to restart the Toniebox while a pair of headphones are plugged in to the Toniebox. It's important to distinguish that this should just be a restart while not connected to the charger instead of a full reset. To restart the Toniebox, follow these steps:
-
Make sure the Toniebox is turned on and then turn the Toniebox upside down, so its ears are pointing downwards. Do NOT do this while the Toniebox is on the charging station.
-
Pinch both Toniebox ears for about 10 seconds until you hear an audio signal.
-
The Toniebox will now restart and you can turn it back upright.
Once restarted, unplug the headphones and see if any sound can be heard from the speaker. If you still do not hear any sound from your Toniebox, send us a message including your Toniebox ID and we will take a look at what might be going on.

The speaker may be defective
- On very rare occasions, the speaker in the Toniebox itself may be defective or damaged. To confirm the issue and get this resolved, send us a message including your Toniebox ID and we will take a look at what might be going on.
